Andrea Lynn Cianflone is a lyric coloratura soprano who has touched the hearts of audiences in mesmerizing performances. Cianflone began to understand early on the power of the arts. “As a young child, I practiced the piano, violin, dance and composition of music; Yet, I fell in love with singing! Music has a transcending affect on peoples’ hearts and minds, and I strongly desire to be a part of that beautiful mystery.”

That ‘mystery’ has allowed Cianflone to entertain and inspire myriad audiences with classical and popular singing. Her stage presence imbues a statuesque elegance with dramatic and theatrical flare.  Cianflone brings an expansive vocal range that spans from a powerfully rich intensity to a reflective and diminutive gentleness, all the while embracing her audience with a delightful sense of humor.

Cianflone is a young artist and recipient of many awards, prizes, scholarships, and grants, including the American Composer’s Forum Encore Grant, The Bel Canto Vocal Scholarship Foundation (Joseph and Elizabeth Solomon Memorial Award), Metropolitan Opera National Council Minnesota District Audition Encouragement Award, and Two Consecutive First Place Thursday Musical Voice Competition Awards.  She has had numerous performances on the concert and theatrical stage, radio, and TV including WCCO-TV (CBS) and Kare 11’s Showcase Minnesota (NBC) to name a few.

Though humbled by these achievements, Cianflone’s objective is simple: I want my singing career to be like a beautiful canvas, the audience and the people on stage all being a part of a bigger picture.  It’s that relationship between the audience and the performer that inspired me to be a singer, because singing is much more than a person on stage singing storylines, texts and high notes. To me, singing is likened to a meaningful prayer or a great conversation that for a glimpse of time, brings, peace, harmony and a little laughter into a person’s life.  As artists, I believe we have a great responsibility to our audiences. It’s my wish that music be the impetus in encouraging and motivating others to discover their God-given potential and talents, and in so doing, I hope people will be inspired to appreciate, nourish, and love family and those around them.
