Gina Loehr is a popular author and inspirational speaker, a theology teacher and the mother of six young children. She has served as a delegate for the Pontifical Council for the Laity’s 2013 Vatican study on women in the Church and cooperated with the Pontifical Council for the Family as a panelist at the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia.
While participating in the PCL seminar in Rome, she met Pope Francis about whom she published her fourth book, Saint Francis, Pope Francis: A Common Vision. Gina has also written four books on Catholic Women's Spirituality: Choosing Beauty: A 30-Day Spiritual Makeover for Women; The Four Teresas and Real Women, Real Saints: Friends for Your Spiritual Journey and her newest release, The Church is Our Mother: Seven Ways She Inspires us to Love. Gina holds a master’s degree in theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville and a bachelor's degree in theatre studies. Her education and her unique conversion from "theatre" to "theology", along with her background as a catechetical missionary and retreat leader with NET Ministries and several years of work in youth/young adult ministry and pro-life outreach equipped Gina for her writing and speaking career. After teaching high school theology and theatre for two years, Gina worked as a full time chastity speaker, inspiring thousands of teens and young adults with dynamic presentations on the subject. From there she began speaking to a wide range of Catholic audiences, writing books and doing freelance writing projects for Catholic periodicals. Her writing has appeared in The National Catholic Register, Our Sunday Visitor, St. Anthony Messenger Magazine, First Things, Franciscan Way, The Catholic Herald and online at Patheos and Catholic Mom.
Gina prefers not to use “canned” talks, but specializes in creating custom presentations for conferences, diocesan events, workshops, fundraisers, retreats and in-services on topics such as marriage, family, and motherhood as well as spirituality, authentic beauty, women’s issues and the saints. She is also a trained NFP teacher who has spoken for numerous engaged enrichment events in her archdiocese. A frequent guest on Catholic radio, Gina has done interviews for EWTN radio, Relevant Radio and Ave Maria radio among others and is often consulted for her expertise on the vocation of women in the Church. In 2011 Gina began teaching theology at Marian University of Wisconsin where she currently lives on a 600 acre dairy farm with her husband and children.
