Rabbi David Dalin is a widely-published scholar of American Jewish History and Catholic-Jewish relations. He is currently a Professor of History and Politics at Ave Maria University in Florida. During the 2002-2003 academic year, he was a Visiting Fellow at Princeton University’s James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions.

Rabbi Dalin received his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. from Brandeis University.  He also received his Rabbinical Ordination, and a second M.A., from the Jewish Theological Seminary. 
 
Rabbi Dalin has written extensively on Catholic-Jewish relations and the history of the relationship between the Papacy and the Jews. Rabbi Dalin’s much-discussed article on “Pius XII and the Jews,” was published in the Weekly Standard and reprinted in Inside the Vatican, published in Rome.                                     
                                                                                                                   
Rabbi  Dalin is the author, co-author or editor of eleven books. His book The Myth of Hitler’s Pope: How Pope Pius XII Rescued Jews from the Nazis, has been translated into French, Spanish and Italian. He is also co-editor of the books John Paul II and the Jewish People: A Jewish-Christian Dialogue, and The Pius War: Responses to the Critics of Pius XII.
 
Rabbi Dalin has lectured extensively on the history of Catholic Jewish relations at colleges and universities throughout the United States, including Assumption College, John Carroll University, Franciscan University of  Stuebenville, Seton Hall University, Villanova University, Belmont Abbey College, the University of San Francisco, the University of Scranton, and Notre Dame. Rabbi Dalin has lectured on “Pius XII and the Jews” at an international conference held at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. Rabbi Dalin has also spoken at Catholic Churches throughout the United States.
 
Rabbi Dalin serves on the Editorial and Advisory Board of the journal First Things.
