Sister Marie Paul Curley, FSP, is a Daughter of Saint Paul, a worldwide community of women religious who enthusiastically communicate the love of Christ through their lives and every form of media. Both an early childhood love for reading and her Pauline vocation has led to Sr. Marie Paul's passion for telling engaging stories that communicate the Gospel and transform culture one person at a time.

As an author, Sr. Marie Paul has several books about spirituality and prayer that have been published internationally, including Soul of Christ: Meditations on a Timeless Prayer and See Yourself Through God's Eyes: 52 Meditations to Grow in Self-Esteem. Sister Marie Paul seeks to foster the dialogue between faith and art in her weekly blog on Catholic media spirituality, Windows to the Soul, and her monthly commentary on current films on Salt + Light Catholic Radio Hour. She also blogs weekly on discernment at Co-Author Your Life with God, and frequently guides retreats and Cinema Divina nights.

Sr. Marie Paul has wide-ranging experience in producing Catholic media, not just writing books but also scriptwriting, co-producing dozens of Catholic cable TV programs, and developing websites. She has a B.A. in Communications from Emmanuel College, and is a graduate of the ACT ONE Hollywood Writing Program. Since 1997, she has been a member of Signis (the Vatican-approved association for Catholic communicators), and is also a member of the Catholic Press Association and the Catholic Writers Guild. She has served as a script consultant and a jury member for various film and screenwriting competitions.

Currently, Sr. Marie Paul is a writer for Pauline Books & Media, specializing in digital content. Frequent themes are the Eucharist, prayer, God’s love for us revealed in Christ, Saint Paul, Pauline spirituality, communication theology and spirituality, the dialogue between art and culture, contemplation and the writing life.

Popular Presentations:

Communion of Love: Theology of Communication 101

Delves into the rich, recently-developed theology of communication, which finds its source in the loving communion of the Persons of the Blessed Trinity, and which calls us as communicators to build up the communion of humanity with God.

Christ at the Center: Pauline Spirituality for Media Artists (Retreat, conference, or workshop)

Saint Paul's spirituality can be summed up in six words: "That Christ may live in us" (see Gal. 2:20 & 4:19). Sister Marie Paul shares Pauline media spirituality that puts Christ at the center of our lives and helps us to model our communication on Christ Way, Truth, and Life, the Perfect Communicator, by a special relationship with and expression of goodness, truth, and beauty.

Digital Virtues and Vices: Faith in a Social Media World

We explore and articulate the values found in social media, comparing and contrasting them to the values of the Gospel, and brainstorming together participants how we can live Gospel-inspired virtue everywhere in our lives, including social media. (For adults and teens.)

Digital Holiness: Encountering the Beauty of Christ in Our Communication Culture

This presentation fosters a dialogue between the human spirit longing for God as expressed in the media and the beautiful truth of the Gospel. Every artistic effort, every media production, is a window to the soul of its creator. Our media culture is also a window--to the soul of humanity. As followers of Christ immersed in social media, we are called to respond to the needs of humanity in our day-to-day lives and through the media that we consume, share, and create. These musings on the spirituality of a Catholic media artist can be directed towards any lover of beauty.

The Vocation of a Media Artist: Inspiration and Creativity for Writers and Artists

This workshop unpacks Pope St. John Paul’s powerful Letter to Artists and explores how the beauty, attentiveness, and adventure of an artistic life can nurture our spiritual lives, and how our spiritual lives can become a strong foundation for our creativity. (Participants will receive a free reflection guide to Letter to Artists in digital format.)
