Chuck Huber has been an actor and teacher for 20 years including a six year stint as Principal of St. Bernadette Academy and most recently as a homeschooling father of five. Chuck speaks and gives workshops on the subject of education innovation and curriculum development at various colleges and schools around the country.
He has consulted for or been involved in the beginnings of 27 different small catholic schools. He also writes children’s books with his wife. Their first book, Zak and the Three Tree, which teaches its readers through a simple story how to memorize the Ten Commandments for life, has sold over 10,000 copies to date. The companion play has been performed for over 25,000 kids and adults, all of whom had the Ten Commandments memorized when they were finished. His next educational projects are an educational kids show Twisted History and a related children’s book entitled The Hippo of Hope. He also speaks on the subject of fatherhood, marriage and staying catholic while remaining a professional in the film business. His latest film, The Fragility of Seconds -fragilitythemovie.com which he produced, wrote and starred in won first place in the drama category at the Houston International Film Festival as well as premiering to rave reviews at the USA Film Festival. It will play in a limited release nationwide beginning in May, 2009. His next film, Saint Damien: The Leper of Molokai, produced by his company Absolute Films in which he plays the title role, begins filming this summer with a scheduled nationwide release in the fall in time for Damien de Veuster’s canonization.
He began acting in Chicago on stage at the Goodman Theater in Marvin’s Room as well as working at the Steppenwolf, Court and Bailiwick theaters. TV/Film credits include The Untouchables(TV) for Fox, Missing Persons for NBC and Going All the Way for Lakeshore Productions. His ongoing credits include the voice of Hiro Nohara on Cartoon Network’s Shin Chan, as well as hundreds of other voices on dozens of shows. Android 17-Garlic Junior on Dragon Ball Z,Emperor Pilaf on Dragonball, Hiei on Yu Yu Hakusho, Shou Tucker on Full Metal Alchemist, Hector on Glass Fleet, Father Vaclev Havel in Trinity Blood, Seamus Han in Blue Gender, Adashino on Mushishi, to name a few. He also writes and directs for the production company Funimation which produces the majority of Japanese Anime in release in America.
Chuck works closely with the Catholic Education Foundation to help return our Catholic Schools to their former place as moral and intellectual vanguard in the educational world.
