"Author, Fatherless"

Travels from: Villanova, Pennsylvania

A U.S. Bishop once said of the life of Brian J. Gail “… It has been filled with the highest highs … and lowest lows.”
Indeed.

The early promise of high academic achievement ultimately gave way to his expulsion from several institutions as an “incorrigible.”

A  High School baseball phenom, recruited by Division One universities and scouted by Major League baseball teams, he suffered a disabling shoulder injury early in his college career that even the Philadelphia Phillies team doctor was unable to heal.

Fueled by a white hot competitive fire and magnetic rhetorical gifts he rocketed to the top of the Madison Avenue advertising world in his mid 30’s only to see his career derailed by a great moral business dilemma and the dictates of an informed conscience.

A gifted entrepreneur and CEO, he provided strategic marketing counsel to elite Fortune 500 corporations and directed a variety of non-profit assistance efforts for the underprivileged in Philadelphia; through his firm, Gailforce Communications Inc., he funded a catholic school tuition voucher program for over 60 inner city children of single minority mothers … in the midst of which he suffered his most devastating setback – the loss of a bi-polar child.

He married his high school sweetheart, Joan Mary Kain, immediately after his graduation from LaSalle University in 1969. They were blessed with seven children (including two sets of identical twins and one set of “Irish twins”), a full measure of abundance … and an unrelenting torrent of family suffering which a priest elegist publicly characterized as “… epic in scope and biblical in proportion …”

The singular prescience which is the inevitable consequence of deep and protracted suffering appears to have found a voice in what critics are now calling “the Catholic novel of our generation.”  Fatherless has been variously acclaimed as “an instant classic” (Philadelphia Bulletin), “masterful” (author Roy Schoeman), “phenomenal” (professor Dr. Janet Smith), “the spark that will light a societal powder keg” (evangelist Christopher West), “remarkable” (Bishop Thomas Olmsted), “riveting” (Defend Life Monthly) and, “quite simply, powerful” (editor, Richard J. Neuhaus +2009).

Brian J. Gail today is a Knight of the Immaculate, a grandfather of 5, a co-founder of three catholic classical academies, a patent holder, and a highly sought after speaker on matters of faith and family. He and his wife divide their time between homes in Villanova, Pennsylvania and Jupiter Island, Florida.

Fatherless, released just recently by One More Soul in Dayton, Ohio, is already in its second printing.
