Deacon Henry Libersat is a popular author, preacher and speaker.
He has preached and spoken throughout the U.S., in the Caribbean, Canada, Peru, and the Holy Land.
He is committed to helping Christians “love the world as God so loved the world.”
Deacon Henry is a recovered alcoholic and looks forward to sharing the story of how God healed him of this affliction.
His books have centered on Catholic spirituality. He co-authored “Miracles Do Happen” for Sister Briege McKenna, OSC, which is now translated into 43 languages.

• Born in Groves, Texas, July 4, 1934.
• Graduated Henry High School, Henry, La., 1951. Earned bachelor’s degree in religious education, 1982, Biscayne College, Miami, Fla., and masters in pastoral ministry, 1986, St. Thomas University, formerly Biscayne College.
• Married Margaret Peggy LeBlanc June 4, 1952. They have seven adult children, 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
• Ordained permanent deacon for the Orlando Diocese, Pentecost Sunday, May 18, 1986.
• Honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corp Reserves.
• Hobbies include reading mystery novels, archery, and deer hunting with bow and gun.
Ministry and Professional Data:
• He is a veteran of more than 40 years of Catholic journalism. In 1988, he was awarded the prestigious St. Francis de Sales Award, the highest individual honor presented by the Catholic Press Association of the United States and Canada
• His ministry, at St. Mary Magdalen Parish, Altamonte Springs, includes preaching, RCIA catechist, prayer counseling, and men’s Scripture study. He produces a quarterly parish magazine, TODAY’S DISCIPLE, which features articles on the quarterly Scriptures written by clergy and master catechists.
• He serves as volunteer, civilian chaplain to the Winter Springs (Fla.) Police Department and to the U.S. Army Reserve 377th Military Intelligence Battalion headquartered in Orlando. He produces an in-house monthly “Chaplain’s Chat” for each of these two ministries.
• He is a member Orlando Deacons Council and served four years as continuing education chairman and five years as president.

Personal Spirituality: Deacon Henry encourages and enables his hearers to develop a personal relationship with Christ. Christian life is a continuous process of conversion. What is really means to be a disciple. The power, duty and privilege of the baptismal priesthood which leads to a prophetic life of stewardship for God’s creation and his Church.
Eucharistic Healing Service: Conducted in home and other parishes and retreats.
Marriage and Family: Man and woman, equals together in God’s image; equality, prayer and communication; sacramental marriage and conjugality – a “social sacrament” and Eucharistic presence in the world; memorializes all of salvation history, makes present what happens on the cross, and prophesies the Second Coming of Jesus (John Paul II).
Evangelization: Presentations include the real disciple – spirituality and mission; the mandate, mission, and content of Catholic evangelization (Paul VI, U.S. Bishops) – what one parish does; role of personal holiness and witness in sharing faith. Group sharing experiences and brainstorming.
