In 1998 Joshua entered the seminary and spent four years there studying for the Priesthood of Jesus Christ for the Diocese of Lafayette, LA.  After finishing his first your years of seminary, Josh discerned that God was not calling him to the priesthood but rather to serve Him in other ways.

Since leaving seminary formation in 2002 Josh has been active in the Information Technology field having managed computer systems and networks for numerous Catholic apostolates and organizations.  It is precisely in this field that Josh has become an expert on the relationship between the Catholic faith and the need to embrace technology.  He has also learned too that technology, especially the internet, can be a tool that leads many astray from the Good News of the Gospel.

Joshua holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and the Liberal Arts from St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington, LA and is currently a candidate for the Master of Arts degree in Theology and Christian Ministry from Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH.

Joshua has spoken and written on a wide range of Catholic issues.  Josh is the host of "Finding your Keys: The Field Guide for the Everyday Catholic" on Radio Maria USA and also co-hosts a weekly live television show, Champions of the Truth, which airs in the Lafayette, Louisiana area.

Joshua is a regular contributor, founding member, and panelist on the catholicunderground.com podcast, a show which focuses on the relationship of Catholic faith and new media

Joshua regularly speaks on many Catholic topics and issues including:

  • The Truth about Internet Pornography
As Christians who live in the world, but not of it, we are constantly bombarded with temptations and lies about love and sexuality.  In this talk, Josh exposes the dark corners of the internet, the lies we’ve been told about internet pornography, and ways to avoid its temptations.  Those who think that Internet Pornography is not a major problem will be surprised to learn the Truth about how Satan uses this as a tool to deceive.
  • The Truth about Love, Sex, and Marriage
Ever wondered what’s God’s plan is for love, sex, and marriage?  Josh discusses the idea of the Marital Covenant and how it is in this Covenant that God establishes relationships with us.  Sex outside of marriage is a lie and Josh reveals that lie for what it really is.
  • The Truth about Child Internet Safety
Did you know that 1 in 5 teenagers has been sexually solicited online?  How about that 75% of children will happily share personal information about themselves to complete strangers over the Internet?  In this talk primarily aimed at parents, Josh uncovers the things that go on online behind parent’s backs and how parents can take back control of the computer in their home and protect their children.
  • Sex and Love:  Satan’s great deception (a talk for men)
Society has told men great lies about sexuality.  Men have been taught that to be a man means that he has to rob women of their virginity prior to marriage, have as many partners as possible and that Love and Sex are two completely different messages.  Josh explains Jesus’ definition of what a real man is and how to overcome the lies of the world and instead find true happiness.
  • Baptism:  History or Mystery?
Too many Catholics think of Baptism as only a family event and not a true mystical experience.  As many as 2 out of 3 Catholics stop attending Mass after having their child baptized only to return again for First Communion and then never make it to Confirmation.  Josh brings to the table the Church’s immensely rich teaching regarding Baptism and how it is more than a historical moment – it’s mystical.

  • The Eucharist - Foretaste of our Heavenly Homeland
God’s primary method throughout Salvation History in dealing with His people has been through Covenant.  In the New and Everlasting Covenant Jesus has given us this Covenantal Symbol and reality of the Eucharist.  Here, Josh talks about the Eucharist as the prefigurement of the heavenly banquet made available to us right here on Earth.
