"Sirius Radio Host"

Travels from: New York, New York

Lino Rulli: Big Nose. Big Faith. Big Laughs.
Lino Rulli hosts "The Catholic Guy", an entertaining daily radio show heard across North America on Sirius Satellite Radio. He has worked in television since 1998 and the 3-time Emmy award winner has won most of the nation’s top awards in journalism.

Born and raised in St. Paul, MN, he went to school in the Mount Airy Projects. After 8 years in public school, as a recognized pianist and theater student, his parents put him in Catholic school. While in high school, however, he left to join the circus. His father was an organ grinder; Lino rode the elephant.

He attended St. John’s University, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications – in addition to being the football team mascot. Two years later he went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Theology.
In 1995 he moved to Nassau, Bahamas and taught religion at St. Augustine’s College. He was also head coach of the school’s National Champion Soccer Team. The following year he moved to Rome, Italy, where his love – and knowledge – of the Catholic Faith grew.
In 1998 he began working in television. For six years he was host of "Generation Cross", a Catholic comedy show. Lino won back-to-back Emmy awards for Program Host and was the first person to win an Emmy for hosting Catholic programming since Bishop Fulton Sheen.

In 2004 he was Co-Executive Producer on "The Last Flagraiser" - a World War II documentary commemorating the 60th anniversary of the flag raising on Iwo Jima. The piece aired nationally on CBS and won the Emmy Award, the Scripps-Howard National Journalism Award, the National Headliner Grand Award and the RTNDA Edward R. Murrow Award.

That same year he founded Linose Productions, LLC, and is part of a team whose credits include: Dateline NBC, CBS Evening News, The Food Network, Animal Planet, US Conference of Catholic Bishops, Catholic Charities USA, among others.
Lino recently produced "Champions of Faith" - a Major League Baseball film featuring All Stars, World Series Champs, and Faith.

In addition to hosting “The Catholic Guy” on Sirius, he hosts the weekend radio show “Lino at Large”, funded by the USCCB.
He has appeared on CNN, FOX News, ABC, and local TV and radio stations. He has been the front page story of The Christian Science Monitor, two cover stories of The National Catholic Register, a feature article in Catholic Digest, as well as local newspapers across the country.
In April, 2005, when John Paul II was ill, Lino went to Rome before the Holy Father’s death. In addition to national television and radio appearances, he was one of a select group of journalists allowed on the colonnades of St. Peter’s Basilica for the funeral of John Paul II. He would later be front and center for the election of Pope Benedict XVI.

That summer, at World Youth Day in Koln, Germany, he produced a documentary which aired on EWTN. He also co-anchored EWTN’s live coverage of the Saturday night Vigil from Marienfeld.

He is a popular speaker who has traveled nationally and internationally for Theology on Tap, Legatus, The Catholic Press Association, among others.

He has interviewed TV legends like Ed McMahon, Church leaders like Cardinal John Foley and Archbishop Charles Chaput, and pop culture stars from American Idol and The Sopranos.

His talks include topics such as Catholics and the Media, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, growing up Catholic in a secular world, John Paul II (whom he met in 1999), and Benedict XVI. Lino’s talks get people laughing. His stories – and love for the Faith – always inform and entertain. With humor.
