"Author, Money As Sacrament"

Travels from:  San Diego, CA
I’m having a good life. I look back on my years and am grateful for all of it:

      *   As a ten-year old, I helped my Syrian immigrant father in his grocery store.

      *   I enjoyed sixteen years as a Florida teaching Sister of St. Joseph.

      *   I earned a Bachelor degree in Music Education from Manhattanville College in New York and a Masters degree in Education from Barry University in Miami.

      *   I left the convent and as a single woman studied how to lead workshops in prejudice reduction, and conflict resolution. I also worked with Jews and Arabs laying seeds of peace for the Middle East. I met and married an educated, insightful poet, who was homeless at the time, and am now enjoying a vibrant and succeeding marriage of twelve years.

      *   I wrote my first book, Money As Sacrament and Ten Speed/Celestial Arts, an ideal publisher, put it into print in November 2002.

      *   I now live a soulful life here in a small town called Sanford with our two cats, and a garden to die for. I write articles and am working on a second book.

      *   My poet-artist husband is lately involved with our historic neighborhood's nooks & crannies through his "photopaintings." Jim calls the series Simply Sanford. The photopainting of a mountain chapel in Maggie Valley, NC at my homepage is one of Jim's.
